Dear Joan Anthony B. Hawke was the chief emigrant agent for Upper Canada and Canada West (present day Ontario) from 1833 to 1864. The Hawke collection spans the years from 1831 until 1892 and includes letterbooks of Hawke and his successor, J.A. Donaldson, registers of immigrants who came to the attention of the emigrant office, financial records, and two reports of inspection of child immigrants.
