It reads, in part, as follows: "...On this sixth day of June one thousand, eight hundred and thirty six:... appeared William Johns, commander of the ship Dochfour of Bristol and the undersigned steerage passengers on board ... the said vessel, which the said William Johns...for the use...of the said steerage passengers, by the overseers of the parishes by whom the said steerage passengers were sent out; and the said several passengers, whose names, marks, and signatures are hereunto affixed so hereby acknowledge to have received the several sums of money....
