I am new to the list and need some advice. I have narrowed down an arrival from Ireland (probably through Liverpool) to (likely) Quebec to between 1830 and 1840 for my GGGrandfather, THOMAS McDIVITT (various spellings) I have done a variety of somewhat random searches before with no results . What is the likelyhood of finding a relevant passenger list and how would I search in a more systematic fashion. Thanks in advance for any direction you are able to give me. Maureen

Hi; Just for your info and depression. I was told when I was in Quebec City in May that almost all of the paaenger records before 1890 were destroyed in a fire. I too was looking for the same time frame even after I was told this, I found none. You could try the Quebec Family History Society or the Canadian Museum of Civilzation www.civilisations.ca The another way to search is from the other end if you know where they came from.
