I asked him if I could forward this... ******************************************************** Dear Listers: For some listers, the Canadians who fought during WW I are three or four generations in the past and they are the ancestors a lot of us are still tracing in our Family Trees. There is a formal Petition online at http://www.dominion.ca/petition which can be signed by Canadians to make a recommendation to the Prime Minister, to approve a State Funeral for the last surviving veteran of WW I. I had no qualms in signing this petition, as it allowed me an opportunity to be part of this timely effort to properly recognize and honour our ancestors who survived this horrible War and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their Family and Country. Hi Mary Rowlands, Thank you for your response with information on my Parizeau request, and the web site for Ontario gravestones. Regards' Alex
I'm looking for the exact death dates of Wilfred Parizeau (B: Unknown, D: about 1994). He was married to Susie Anderson (1912 to about 1993). Both lived and died in Temiscamigue. I called the Catholic Church there, in 1995, but they would not give me specific information, only that they had been members, and had both died recently. Also interested in Wilfred's birth date, marriage date, plus his parent's names & dates. Also Susie's exact death date. They had one daughter Barbara, but I have no information on her, though she may be married in the Temiscamingue area. Any information, or leads, would be appreciated Alex Cummings
Here's another little something that could make our gr-gr-grandchildren's genealogy research a lot easier. Women can list themselves in their maiden name. Think how much easier that will make it in the future. And I know you all have heard about answering YES to allowing access to census data in 92 years --- and we all know how important that could be to our gr-gr-grandchildren who pick up our favourite hobby. (I am talking about genealogy) <grin>
----- Original Message ----- From: Marilyn Palmer To: CAN-QC-TEMISCAMINGUE-admin@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2006 5:41 AM Subject: CEMETERY INQURY Hi there: I have recently received information on the burial place of a great aunt, according to her son she is buried in a cemetery near a golf course in Temiscamingue/Timiskaming - are there two places - one in Ontario and one in Quebec? The family originally lived in Pembroke Ontario - I need to sort out exactly where she was buried before I can contact a cemetery - could you tell me whether there are two different places or one place spelled in two ways. Many thanks, Marilyn
This is advanced notification to you that most of RootsWeb will be off-line on the morning of Thursday 19th January while they shift servers between NOCs. A message to this effect has been loaded to the announcements on the HelpDesk http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/. The Message Boards and WorldConnect are both services that are already at the new location so these services will not be off-line, ie. they will be fully functional. The time of the shift will be 12am through 6am Utah time (MST), ie. up to six hours in duration. This equates to US and Canada 2am EST, 1am CST, 11pm PST UK/GMT 7am NZ 8pm Aus 6pm AEDT, 5.30pm ACDT, 5pm AEST, 4.30pm ACST, 3pm AWST Other time zones you will have to work out for yourselves. Mail sent to lists during this time should spool (wait) at your ISP or the message boards server for our mail servers to come back online. For this short down time, none should bounce (Note that it is a 'should' statement)
I'm looking for the exact death dates of Wilfred Pariseau (B: Unknown, D: about 1994). He was married to Susie Anderson (1912 to about 1993). Both lived and died in Temiscamigue. There are a few new researchers joining us and I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome them and to offer a pointer that would facilitate their research efforts... And to also remind some of our regulars who may have forgotten. When you do send questions about your ancestors try to include as much information as possible - forward or backward generations, time span and localities. Remember that we are talking about a close knit group that followed traditional naming practices and usually married locally. So in the mid 1800's you could have 3 Jean Baptiste BOIVINs married to 3 Madeleine DAOUSTs all in the same village. It would make our job easier if you supplied us with as much info as you already have. Many of us have church registries and can trace back generations -- and there are hundreds of church registries. You could even start listing back from your parents or grandparents because that info you probably have in detail and it would tell us which resource books to start looking in.

Looking for death dates, and burial location (church) for Wilfred Pariseau, (abt 1994) and his wife Susan (Anderson) Pariseau (abt 1993). Both lived in Temiscaming for their last 20 years. Would also like information on Wilfred's parents. Regards, Alex
