ARTHUR J. FORTIER - Warwick 01:00 AM EST on Saturday, November 6, 2004 ARTHUR J. FORTIER, 75, of Capron Farm Drive, formerly of Wickford, a retired sales representative and parole officer, died Thursday at Kent Hospital. Born in West Orange, N.J., a son of the late Arthur J. Fortier Sr. and Olive (Miles) Fortier, he had lived in Wickford before moving to Warwick three years ago. Mr. Fortier had been a sales representative at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of New England, and later worked as a parole officer for the State of Rhode Island before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. A graduate of Bryant Collage, where he had played basketball and football, he was also a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Mr. Fortier was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He leaves two daughters, Nancy Connors and Paula Gordon, both of Matunuck; a son, Arthur J. Fortier III of Pawtucket; a brother, Robert Fortier in Delaware; and four grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, 140 West Main St., Wickford, North Kingstown. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
