HORTENSE M. BARRETTE - Woonsocket 01:00 AM EST on Sunday, November 14, 2004 HORTENSE M. BARRETTE, 96, formerly of Coe Street, a retired state employee, died Friday at North Bay Manor, Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Stanley Barrette. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie L. (Vanasse) Barrette, she had lived in Woonsocket most of her life before moving to Smithfield in 1989. Mrs. Barrette had worked in the state Department of Human Services before retiring in 1980. A former communicant of Holy Family Church, she had been active in parish activities for over 50 years, and was a former Girl Scout leader. She was a 1925 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She leaves two sons, Charles Barrette of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Edmund Barrette of Cumberland; three daughters, Madeleine Rochefort of San Diego, Calif., Alice M. Gallant of Port Orange, Fla., and Muriel Rinaldi of Lincoln; and 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, South Main Street. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.
