    3. Saturday, November 20, 2004 Alice M. Lettre 1921-2004 AUGUSTA -- Alice M. Lettre, 83, of Gray Birch Drive and formerly of Townsend Road, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch Drive, following a brief illness. She was born in Augusta on May 27, 1921, a daughter of the late Delphis G. and Mary Louise (Couture) Poulin. Mrs. Lettre had attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Mrs. Lettre was an avid beano player and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and a life member of Cushoc Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel E. "Pete" Lettre; five brothers; six sisters; a grandson, Richard A. Lettre; and a great-grandson, Robert Lettre III. Mrs. Lettre is survived by five sons, Robert Lettre and his wife, Audrey, of Sheboygan, Wis., Donald Lettre and his wife, Carmen, of Augusta, Victor Lettre and his wife, Louise, of Augusta, Michael Lettre and his wife, Susan, of Palermo and Dennis Lettre and his wife, Julie, of Augusta; three daughters, Arlene Davis and her husband, Timothy, of Augusta, Susan Daniels and her husband, Thomas, of Augusta and Debi Gray and her husband, Scott, of Sidney; two brothers, Adrien "Pop" Poulin and Gerard Poulin, both of Augusta; three sisters, Lucille Dostie and Simone Dumont, both of Augusta, and Germaine Morrissette of South China; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Avenue, Augusta. Burial will be in Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center, Gray Birch Residential Care Activity Fund, 40 Gray Birch Drive, Augusta 04330.
