    3. Chester Goddette July 7, 1917 - November 13, 2004 JEWETT CITY- Chester Goddette, 87, of Palmer Ave. died Saturday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was born July 7, 1917 in Burlington, VT, son of the late Henry and Bertha (LaForce) Goddette. On June 18, 1955 he was married to Bertha Rosol in St. Mary Church in Jewett City. She predeceased him. Mr. Goddette worked at Electric Boat in Groton. He was a US Army veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of the VFW Post 10004 in Jewett City, the American Legion in Jewett City, the Knights of Columbus Rev. McCabe Council #2364 in Jewett City, the French Club in Jewett City and the Polish Club. Survivors include two sons Michael Goddette of Preston, James Goddette of Pensacola, FL, a daughter Irene Goddette of Brooklyn, a brother Leon Goddette of St. Augustine, FL, two sisters Patricia Desrosiers of Jewett City, Margaret Mercier of NY, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will assemble Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the GagnePiechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd. Rt. 138 Jewett City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Jewett City. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Griswold.
