Douglas Paul Bernier Sr. BERNIER, Douglas Paul, Sr. Douglas Paul Bernier, Sr., 44, of North St., Bristol, beloved husband of Rachel (Begin) Bernier, died Sunday, (November 14, 2004) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. He was born December 2, 1959, in Fort Kent, ME, son of Harold and Joan (Chasse) Bernier of Bristol. A resident of Bristol for the past 40 years, Doug was a graduate of Bristol Central High School and a member of St. Matthew Church. He was employed as a correctional officer for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections for 20 years. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Douglas Paul Bernier, Jr., of Bristol; a daughter, Kristin Bernier of Bristol; two brothers, Gregory Bernier of West Hartford and Mark Bernier of Bristol; a sister, Susan Fazzuoli of Bristol; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 9 a.m. from the O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville, to St. Matthew Church, Forestville, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
