Monday, November 22, 2004 Louise Baird, 90 PORTLAND - Our mother, Louise Baird, went home to her Lord & Savior on Friday morning, Nov. 19, 2004, at 90 years of age. She was born Louise Marie Descoteaux in Montreal, Canada, the youngest of four children. While in Canada, she met and married Thomas Baird in 1946. They moved to Scarborough, and on to Portland, living on Frances Street for over 45 years. She lived for the past four years at Clark's Terrace on Stevens Avenue. She was a member of Emmanuel Assembly on Washington Avenue. She dedicated many years of her life to leading Bible studies at various area nursing homes, one study is still in existence after 25 years. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Martin, her husband Steve of Portland, and their two children Jeff & Katie; son Charles of South Portland, and his daughter Sarah; and son Michael and his wife Debi, of Palm Bay, Fla., and their two children, Tom & Jessica. There are two great-grandchildren on the way. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones, Rich, & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, at 12:30 p.m., also at Jones, Rich & Hutchins. A reception will follow at Park Danforth at 777 Stevens Avenue in Portland.
