    3. Saturday, November 6, 2004 Bernard S. Blanchet, 89 WESTBROOK - Bernard S. Blanchet, 89, of 312 Brown St., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at the Springbrook Health Care. He was born in St. Jean Port Jolie P.Q. Canada, a son of Servule and Justine Ouellette Blanchet. He came to Westbrook in 1923. He had been employed by the Dana Warp Mill for many years and later the S.D. Warren Co. for 20 years, before retiring. Ben was very active in city politics. He served on the Westbrook City Council for many years. He served on the Board of Metro for 10 years. He was very active in local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, receiving the St. George award for his many years of dedication to the Boy Scouts. He was a 4th degree and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church and a longtime member of it's Holy Name Society. His wife Mary Peachwall Blanchet died in 2001 and a son Michael died in 1974. He is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Cousins of Westbrook; grandchildren, Sean Cousins and Nicky Lee Cross; and great-grandchildren, Vincent Cousins and Sabrina Cross. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Church. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
