MARGUERITE L. (MESSIER) BERNARD - Somerset 01:00 AM EST on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 MARGUERITE L. (MESSIER) BERNARD, 85, of Kennedy Terrace, a retired employee of the Somerset Council on Aging, died yesterday at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center, Fall River. She was the wife of the late Armand G. Bernard. Born in Fall River on Dec. 4, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Raoul and Alice (Banville) Messier. She attended Durfee High School. Mrs. Bernard was a clerk at the former Grants Department Store and later worked in the food program at the Somerset Council on Aging before retiring. She was a member of the Somerset Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Bernard was a parishioner of the St. Thomas More Church. She leaves a daughter, Susan J. Bienvenue of Somerset; two sons, Ronald A. Bernard of Fall River and Richard P. Bernard in Hawaii; a sister, Madeline Maddock of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Doris Barnwell, James, Raoul and Normand Messier. The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
