Madeleine Cadieux > Noel + Marthe Golle Source: Union Leader, Manchester New Hampshire, August 30, 2001, page A6 Haverhill - Eva Wheeler, 93, formerly of 6 Terrace St., Woodsville, died Aug. 28, 2001, at Brookside Nursing Home in Bradford, Vt., after an extended illness. She was born in East Haverhill June 7, 1908, a daughter of Cyrille and Mary DeRosia Fortier. She worked at the Woodside Diner during World War II and was a chambermaid for the Hale Tavern, Wells River, Vt. She also worked in the Lisbon and Littleton shoe shops. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Woodsville. The family includes two sons, Erving I. Wheeler of Woodsville and Paul R. Wheeler of Indian Orchard, Mass.; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Kelley of New Britain, Conn.; two brothers, Leo Fortier and Fred Fortier, both of North Haverhill; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services: Calling hours are Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St., Woodsville. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Philip Brady of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bath.
