He was 79. William was born in Rockland Lake on June 29, 1925. The son of Charles and Mae (Walla) Dittmer. William retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service, having served in WWII and the Korean conflict. Then he was employed at Lederle Labs in Pearl River for 25 years. William was predeceased by his wife Margaret Jane Bergevin Dittmer in March of 2005. He is survived by two sons William Duso of Newburgh and Lawrence (Sue) Duso of Bay City, MI, a daughter Sharon (Tom) Quinlan of South Port, NC. A brother Charles (Eleanor) Dittmer of Congers.
