    3. Norwich Bulletin Dec. 1, 2006 M. Genevieve Francoeur Marshall April 23, 1934 - November 26, 2006 VERO BEACH FLORIDA- M. Genevieve "Jenny" Francoeur Marshall, 72, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Palm Beach JFK Hospital in Atlantis FL. She was born April 23, 1934 in Thortons Ferry, NH to the late Henry and Gertrude (Bigwood) Caron. Jenny was raised in New Hampshire on her family's farm. She attended Mount St. Mary's Seminary High School. She married the late Robert Francoeur on July 28, 1951. Together they raised four children in Waterford, later moving to Ledyard, CT where they established the J&B Ranch in 1975. They were married for almost 25 years until his death. Jenny married Raymond Marshall on November 6, 1976 and were married for almost 20 years until his passing in 1996. Getting her first horse at the age of eight, Jenny developed a passion for horses and cows. She was also very proud of her 40+ herd of whitefaced Herefords. She would show them at many state fairs. When she was not showing them, she was judging them. For over a decade, Jenny was an active member of the Future Farmers of America at Ledyard High School sharing her knowledge with the VoAg students. In 1996 Jenny moved to Norwich where she was a parishioner at St. Peter & Paul Church. In 2001, Jenny split her time living in CT and FL; later making Vero Beach her permanent home. She was also a parishioner at St. Helen's Church in Vero Beach. Jenny had a passion for life, living life to its fullest and overcoming many obstacles such as failing eyesight, broken kneecaps and her 59 year battle with diabetes; receiving a survivor's medal from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). She took an active role volunteering for the A.D.A, raising money. Jenny was a member of the Norwich Senior Center and was often seen playing pool and giving lessons. She enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, with the guys and UNO with her grandchildren. Jenny took classes at Three Rivers just to keep her mind sharp. Jenny is survived by her son Joseph Francoeur of Jacksonville FL; her daughters, Sharon Mercado of Gales Ferry, Michel Leask of Bozrah, Vicki Wray of Duncansville, PA; her brother Frank Caron of Vero Beach FL; her sister Marguerite Ryan of Merrimack, NH; and 11 grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was predeceased by a brother Henry Caron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Norwich. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in New London, CT.
