(Fortier) Moraites, age 95, formerly of Ninth Ave, died Tuesday, July 12, at Penacook Place. A native and lifelong resident of the city, she attended St. Joseph Grammar School, Saint James High School and MacIntosh Business School. Mrs. Moraites worked as a payroll clerk for 20 years at Western Electric Co. and AT&T Technologies, retiring in 1975. She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former St. Joseph Parish, The Ladies of St. Anne Society, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. The wife of the late Alexander Moraites and mother of the late Charles Veltsos, she is survived by two sons, Donald Veltsos and his wife Helen and Michael Moraites and his wife Marie, of Florence, Alabama, grandchildren, James M. Moraites and his wife Joanie of Haverhill, Patty M. Apkarian and her husband John of Methuen, Jayann E. Davis and her husband Jim of Florence,Alabama, and Michael A. Moraites of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, also 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, July 15, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
