    3. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA. 28 August 2007 Fernande M. Roy 1921 2007 AGAWAM, MASS. - Fernande M. (Dutil) Roy, 85, of Agawam and a former longtime resident of Chapin Terrace in Springfield was Called Safely Home on Friday, August 24, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saint Charles de Belchasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 19, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Boucher) Dutil. She moved to Springfield in 1952 and lived on Chapin Terrace until moving to Agawam in 1981. She was the housekeeper for 15 years at the former Saint Joseph Rectory on Howard Street in Springfield and retired in 1996. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on Harriet Street in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Linda M. Roy who was Called Home on July 18, 1978. She leaves her loving children, Monique Saunders and her husband Keith of Cumberland, RI, Steven Roy and his wife Sandy of East Springfield and Michael Roy and his partner Bill O'Brien of New York, NY. Her three cherished grandchildren, Shaun Saunders of Greenville, RI, Sarah Saunders of Canton, MA and Shannon Roy of Springfield. Her cherished great granddaughter, Mikayla. Her dear brothers and sisters, Aimé Dutil and his wife Lise of Hampden, MA, Gilles Dutil and his wife Louise, Adrien Dutil and his wife Rose, Yvette Dutil, Raymonde Prévost and her husband Raymond, Elisabeth Aubé and her husband Jean-Guy and Jacqueline Sipa and her husband François, all of Quebec, Canada. She also leaves many other sisters and brothers-in-law and many dear nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard A. Roy who was Called Home on September 13, 1997 and her dear brother and sisters, Jean-Leo Dutil, Gemma Sirois and Jeanne d'Arc Bilodeau. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, August 30, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, 7 Chapin Terrace at the corner of Chestnut Street (near Baystate Medical Center) in Springfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 94 Springfield Street in Chicopee. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street in Springfield. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Chapin Chapel on Thursday morning, August 30, 2007 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. For those who prefer to make a memorial donation, they may be made in her memory to the Visiting Nurse Association of Care New England Hospice Program, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI, 02886.
