THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA 23 August 2007 Ernest T. Morin CHICOPEE, MASS. - Ernest T. Morin was called safely home on Monday, August 20, 2007 at Baystate Medical Center after a brief illness. Ernest was born in Chicopee, the son of the late Eugene and Marie Louise (Durocher) Morin. He was a graduate of Chicopee High School and furthered his education at Wentworth Institute in Boston. Ernest was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, having served overseas and fought courageously with his unit. Most recently, Ernest was a self employed Master Carpenter serving the Greater Springfield Area for many years. His detailed craftsmanship was highly sought after, and he was still working up until his recent illness. Ernest was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary (Casey) Morin on February 10, 1974. He is survived by his son, Gary E. Morin of Lake Mary, FL; his daughter Rosemary Morin and her spouse Alicia Zoeller of Springfield and his sister, Rita Lepine of Chicopee. During his life Ernest instilled the values of honesty, integrity and hard work in his children. They will honor his legacy by carrying them forward and will miss him immensely. Ernest also leaves two cherished grandchildren, Jana Lynn Morin and Cory E.J. Morin to forever cherish his memory. Ernest will be missed by his daughters' cats, who loved spending time close to him. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway. The burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Pontbriant 1992-2007 NORWICH, CT - "Larry" Lawrence V. Pontbriant, 15, much beloved son of Lawrence R. and Evelyn (Orlik) Pontbriant of 7 Lambert Drive, Norwich, died Sunday at Hartford Children's Hospital. He was born in Norwich on January 26, 1992. an Honor student at Norwich Free Academy, he was very active on the lacrosse team, freshman and J.V. soccer team, indoor track, a member of the Southeast CT Select Lacrosse Team, Team Central Lacrosse of Southborough, MA., and previously on the Kelly Jr. High Cross Country Team. Surviving along with his mom and dad of Norwich is his maternal grandmother Helen (Grybosh) Orlik of Ludlow, MA; his paternal grandfather Lawrence L. Pontbriant of Easthampton, MA; aunts and uncles, Marianne and Joseph Moura of Belchertown, MA, Michelle Pontbriant of Easthampton, MA, Stephen Orlik of Ludlow, MA, and Andre and Suzanne Pontbriant of Easthampton, MA, along with several cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Victor Orlik, and his paternal grandmother Gertrude Pontbriant. Larry touched a lot of hearts young and old, and leaves behind his many relatives, friends, team mates and teachers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, where the funeral will assemble on Monday at 9 a.m. and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Patrick at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Taftville.
