    3. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA 17 May 2007 Marie E. Caputo 1924 - 2007 SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - Marie E. (Godin) Caputo, 82, of Springfield, died at home on Wednesday May 16, 2007. She was born in Hatfield, MA on May 22, 1924 a daughter of the late Ernest and Magaret (Waugh) Godin and graduated Cathedral High School in 1942. Marie was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield and was a volunteer of the Athletic Association of the Church. She took great pleasure in watching her grandsons during their many baseball and hockey games. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Albert F. Caputo on December 10, 1994; and also by her brother, Vincent Godin who died in 1993. She leaves her daughter, Marcia A. DeMaria and her husband Richard of Springfield; and her grandsons, Thomas DeMaria of Springfield and his fiancé Nicole Yannakopoulos of Lowell, MA, and Paul DeMaria of Springfield. Marie also leaves her many sisters in law and brothers in law; many nieces and nephews; her many friends including her best friend, Helen Sullivan of Wilbraham; and her companion, her grandson's Weimaraner, "Morgan". Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 19th at 9 a.m. from Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker Street, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State Street, all in Springfield. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday May 18th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Marie enjoyed watching the Chalice of Salvation on Sunday mornings and her family has asked that donations be made in her memory to the Chalice of Salvation, PO Box 1730, Springfield, MA 01102-1730.
