    3. THE REPUBLICAN Springfield, MA. 27 August 2007 Elizabeth (Deschaine) Harper 1914-2007 WARE-Elizabeth (Deschaine) Harper of Ware was called safely home on Sunday, August 25th . At the time of her death she was a resident of Wingate of South Hadley. She was born in Springfield August 22nd, 1914,a beloved daughter Arthur and Albina (Riopel) Deschaine. At age six she moved to her aunt Alma Pelletier's in Springfield, who raised her after the passing of her mother. She attended schools in Canada and Marlboro. She later moved to Ware, where she spent most of her adult life. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ware. She was the wife of the late William P. Harper who passed away in 1988. She enjoyed listening to her husband's piano music and loved to sing and dance. She also enjoyed braiding rugs and spending time playing cards with her grandchildren. She leaves her two loving daughters Elaine Demers and her husband Donald of Ware, and Carol Rivard and her husband Raymond of West Hartford Vt., and her nine cherished grandchildren, whom she enjoyed so much, Larry and Mike McCloskey, Carol Ann Piccoli and her husband Doug all of Stafford Springs Ct., William McCloskey and his Wendy of Somers Ct., Tom Powers and his wife Patti of West Burke Vt., Denise Bloom and her husband Dan of Lebanon NH, Danielle Hilstro and her husband Chris of Concord NH, Beth Rivard of West Lebanon NH, Christine Rivard of Stoneham, as well as 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Loretta Budlong of Enfield Ct. and her brother Homer Descahaine of Tuscon AZ and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers Charles and Edward, a sister Lillian Beatty and a very dear friend Cynthia O'Brien who watched over her while she resided at Brookhaven Rest Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 29th from the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. with her life celebrated with a Mass at 11am in All Saints Church. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Published in The Republican on 8/27/2007.
