CADYVILLE Roland N. Baughn, 80, of State Route 374, was called to the Lord Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his children. He was born in Plattsburgh on April 11, 1926, the son of the late Albert and Emma (Gebo) Baughn. Roland was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2166 in Dannemora and the Fourth Degree Bishop Wadham's Assembly 706. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving a Purple Heart. Roland was a Boy Scout leader for many years and became an Eagle Scout. He was a foster parent for 25 years. Roland was an active member of St. Joseph's Church with his grandson, Ian. He was a mechanic for several dealerships. He worked for Maggy's Pharmacy for the past 10 years. Roland was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roland is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Baughn of Cadyville and Cherie Harpp and her husband Richard of Morrisonville; three sons, Thomas Baughn and his wife Jill of Cadyville, David Baughn and his companion Terry Roepke of North Post, Fla., and Robert Buchanan of Cadyville; four brothers, Albert Baughn of Plattsburgh, Wesley Baughn and his wife Catherine of Peru, Alan Baughn and his wife Cathy of Morrisonville and Leo Baughn of Florida; grandchildren, Ian, Michael, Steven, Cory and his wife Robin, Hope, Thomas and his wife Armene and Jason Baughn, Ali and Andrew Harpp, Heidi and her husband Jason Dresser and Shellie and her husband Greg James; three great-grandchildren, Riley Baughn, Hannah Dresser and Silas Baughn; two step-grandchildren, Jeremy and Logan James; mother-in-law, Jennie Rascoe of North Port, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Roland is predeceased by his wife, Shirley; one son, Roland; grandson, Jeremy Baughn; two brothers, Richard and Robert; and a sister, Rena Ward. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh. Knights of Columbus Council 2166 of Dannemora and the Fourth Degree Bishop Wadham's Assembley 706 will have services at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. GOKEY, 90, of 25 Edward St., Malone died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. He was born in Malone on Nov. 23, 1916, the son of the later Henry and Mary (Shova) Gokey. He is also survived by their three children: Andrea Anne Light of Plattsburgh, A. Thomas Light and his wife, Susan, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Gregory Joseph Light and his wife, Diane, of Peru. Mr. Light also leaves five grandchildren, Lisa Light-Brown of Tallahassee, Fla., Michelle Susan Meyers of Randolph, N.J., Thomas Andre Sam Light of Hattiesburg, Miss, Jessica Lynn Light and Brandon Derek Light of Peru, and five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Cameron Brown, Taylor and Sydney Myers, and Samantha and Zachary Light. Born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 16, 1923, to John B. and Agnes Light, Andre was one of 10 children, including three brothers, Maynard Light, who is deceased, Dr. Alfred Light and Napolean Light; and six sisters, Mildred Kirk and Anita Lemieux, both deceased, Valeda Kavanaugh, Yvonne Herkalo, Bernadette Dalton and Jeanne Farrington, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Light was a lifelong resident of Plattsburgh. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps, receiving two good-conduct medals, as head of the 10th Air Depot in London, England, and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. In 1961, he and his wife, Honey, opened Lights Jewelers, which he operated until his retirement in 1985. In addition to his membership in the Elks and The Jewelers of America, Mr. Light enjoyed many happy summers playing golf and was a two-time local club senior champion. Calling hours and funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 30, and interment will be today at St. Peter's Cemetery. Drutz, formerly of Saranac Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at her daughter's home in Plattsburgh with her family by her side. Born in Saranac Lake on Sept. 6, 1921, she was the daughter of Edgar and Anna (Gebo) LaPlante. She married Joseph Drutz on April 27, 1942, in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on Dec. 30, 1975. Mrs. Drutz was a life long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise as a secretary/librarian until her retirement in 2000. Prior to that she had worked with her husband, Joe, at Drutz Fine Food and taught second grade at St. Bernard's School. Bea was a very active volunteer in the Saranac Lake Free Library. She worked at the Antique Show and Sale each year. She had been a member of the Womens Civic Chamber, the Women of the Elks, the Saranac Lake Duplicate Bridge Club, the Saranac Lake Golf Club, she was a Girl Scout Leader and offered her typing services to the "Pack Basket," a Saranac Lake Central School newspaper. Bea was very active at St. Bernard's Church where she belonged to the Mothers Club, Catholic Daughters of America, CFM (Christian Family Movement) and RCIA. She is survived by three daughters, JoAnne Balzar and her husband Bill of Laredo, Texas, Jean Nesbitt of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Deborah Clinch of Auburn, N.Y.. Six grandchildren, Beth Balzar and her husband Alberto, Amy Harvey and her husband Richard, Thomas Nesbitt and his wife Ellen, Jill Nesbitt, Christen Clinch and Melanie Phillips and her husband Todd. Four great-grandchildren, Jackson Harvey, Miguel Nesbitt, Wyatt and Todd Phillips. A sister-in-law, Bess Redmond; and two cousins, Alburn Hathaway and Ernest Gebo also survive.
