MOOERS FORKS Ruth G. Brassard-Plosick, 66, went home to the Lord Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Mooers Forks on Jan. 8, 1940, the daughter of Wilfred and Bertha (Menard) Boulerice. Ruthie's life was filled with God and family. Her most cherished times were spent with her beloved husband, children and grandchildren. You would often find Ruthie in her favorite rocking chair enjoying the beautiful birds in the backyard as she was an avid birdwatcher. As a pastime, she was often on the computer playing pinochle. Nothing pleased Ruthie more than playing pranks and making everyone laugh. Always the strong one, people looked to Ruthie for support and strength and she never let them down. Rather than mourn the absence of Ruthie's flame, let us celebrate how brightly it glowed. She was employed by Harris Graphics as an executive secretary for 22 years, including 17 for Al Strack; she was an assistant for the deaf at Clinton Community College; she was an executive secretary for Powertex in Rouses Point for 15 years; and served as town clerk and tax collector for the Town of Mooers for two years. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks and was a 30-year member and past president of the Ladies of St. Ann. She was active in St. Ann's parish, where she was a lector, choir member and guitarist. She is survived by her husband, Edward Plosick Jr.; her children, Mitchell Brassard of Ellenburg Center, Mark and Heather Brassard of Mooers Forks, Matt and Tricia Brassard of Ellenburg Center; a daughter-in law, Donna Brassard of Mooers; her siblings, Don and Irene Racette of Plattsburgh, Dick and Pamela Boulerice of Mooers; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard Trombley of Chazy, Jeanine Boulerice of Hemmingford, Quebec, Jeanne Trudo of Altona; her stepchildren, Paula and Steve Barrett, Edward and Julia Polasik III, Michael and Kriss Plosick, all of Michigan, Corena "Co Co Rena" Plosick of Texas, Ryan Plosick of Mooers Forks, Matthew Plosick of Plattsburgh; her former husband, Clifford Brassard of Peru; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine Lagree, James and Edith Mesick, all of Mooers Forks, Robert and Sue Brassard of Brasher, Gilbert and Vicky Brassard of Mooers; 15 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; an! d several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Michael G. Brassard; stepson Jeff Plosick; sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Dave Dunckle; two brothers, Gerald and Gilbert Boulerice; a sister, Bernadette Trombley; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Lagree Sr. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. The Ladies of St. Ann are asked to meet at the funeral home at 6 p.m. for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Wellspeak, 76, of Cicero, a former teacher at Willsboro Central School, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. He was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Adams, Mass., a son of Nelson Leo Wellspeak and Celina "Elsie" (LeBeau) Wellspeak. He began his career in education at Willsboro Central School, where he taught instrumental and vocal music in grades one through 12 from 1953 to 1955. From 1955 to 1965, he served as instrumental music teacher in grades five through 12 in the district. After Willsboro, he also served as principal at North Rose Junior-Senior High School, assistant superintendent at Massena Central School and Cincinnatus Central School and superintendent at Alexander Central School District, the Christian Central Academy and Romulus Central School, before retiring in 1993. During his retirement, he held several interim superintendent positions throughout New York. Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Johnson; children, Nelson (Sue) Wellspeak of Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis (Pamela) Wellspeak of Alexander, John (Shawn) Wellspeak of Albany, Michelle (Thomas) Turnbull of Batavia, Colette (Martin) Lawless of Albany, Debra Wellspeak of Albany, Chris (Colleen) Wellspeak of Alexander; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and brother, Richard Wellspeak of Willsboro. A life celebration service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Believer's Chapel, Cicero. (LaGoy) Wilczak, age 90, formerly of Vernon and East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2007, at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. She is survived by four children, David (Debbie) Seguin of Erieville, N.Y., Robert (Nancy) Seguin of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., Donna (Kevin) Kamholtz of Canandaigua and Daniel Wilczak of East Syracuse; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred (Lucy) LaGoy of Cadyville, N.Y., Richard (Rose) LaGoy, Leeward (Elizabeth) LaGoy, both of Vernon; brother-in-law Roman (Caroline) Wilczak of Vernon Center, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husbands, Lester Seguin in 1954 and Joseph V. Wilczak in 1990; her brothers, William, Albert and Francis LaGoy; her sister, Lucille Coryea. Mrs. Wilczak was born in Altona, N.Y., the daughter of Henry and Heloise (LaFreniere) LaGoy. She worked as a waitress for over 40 years and had worked at Dibble's Inn in Vernon, Three Rivers Inn, Hotel Syracuse, Leederkrantz Club, Corinthian Club, Holiday Inn in Syracuse and the Holiday Inn in East Syracuse. Mrs. Wilczak loved being with her family and friends, touching the lives of many people. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed entertaining, cooking, sewing, arts and crafts. She was always there to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Wilczak was a former member of St. Matthew's parish in East Syracuse. She was a member of St. Matthew's Church Altar and Rosary Society, Toastmasters USA, Fayetteville Garden Club, Syracuse Rose Society, Wagon Wheel Senior Club in Syracuse. She was a girl scout leader in East Syracuse, Fremont, Kirkville, N.Y., areas. Mrs. Wilczak won multiple blue ribbons for her plants/flowers and quilts at the New York State fair. She was also recognized for her co! oking and baking recipes. She won awards for public speaking with Toastmasters USA. There will be no calling hours. Her memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, in Vernon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to M.M.
