Madeleine Cadieux > Noel + Marthe Golle St-Albans Messenger PHYLLIS LASHWAY PFANSTIEL SWANTON -- Mrs. Phyllis Lashway Pfanstiel, 75, a longtime resident of 8 Pine St. in Swanton Village and more recently a resident of the Holiday House Nursing Facility, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 1, 2002 in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. Phyllis was born in Quebec, Canada, May 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Evelyn (Johnson) Fortier. In Sept. of 1946, she married Davidson Lashway, who predeceased her on Oct. 30, 1967. She was associated for several years with A&P, Prouty's IGA, Blouin's IGA and the Softlite Company all in Swanton, as well as serving as the Jewelry Department Manager for Ames Department Store and also worked at the former Anne's Bake Shop both in St. Albans. She was a member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post #1, and Ladies Auxiliary in St. Albans. Phyllis leaves her daughter, Debbie Reynolds and husband Tom, and granddaughter Katie, all of Highgate; two sisters, Theresa Gregory of Fla. and Loretta Turner of Calif.; a brother, Michael Fortier of Conn. Also surviving are close friends Angie and John Elliott of Swanton, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Phyllis' request there will be no calling hours or funeral at this time. A private committal service and interment will take place in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements have been under the direction of the Kidder Memorial home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton.
