MORRISONVILLE Vernon G. Champagne, 68, of Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plattsburgh, Nov. 8, 1938, the son of the late Arthur and Sylvia (Trombley) Champagne. He married Joanne M. Hart on Nov. 19, 1960, at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. She predeceased him on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004. Vernon was employed for 20 years at Clinton Correctional Facility before retiring in February 2003. Prior to being a corrections officer, he worked for Diamond International for 22 years. He was a member of the Big Horn Hunting Club in Chateaugay Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also played softball in West Plattsburgh for years. Survivors include a daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Kevin Dowling, of Finksburg, Md.; one son, David Champagne and his companion, Maureen McGee, of Peru; four granddaughters, Emma Joanne and Ellen Dowling and twin sisters, Cammi and Chloe Champagne; a sister, Charlotte and her husband, Antoine Latour, of Schuyler Falls; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Joseph W. Elliot, pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in Vernon's memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh. Donah, 71, of Mooers, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Born in Chazy on June 1, 1935, he was the son of Earl and Rita (Mousseau) Donah. Rob served in the Army during the Korean War from 1957-1960. He was a supervisor at Harris Graphics in Champlain for 24 years and retired in 1998 as a supervisor at Velan Valve in Williston, Vt. Bob was very handy if it was broke, he could fix it. He enjoyed square dancing, riding snowmobiles, traveling to Las Vegas to play the slot machines, boating, fishing, hunting, country music, spending time with his grandchildren and friends and family. Survivors include his companion, Delorise "Tootie" Kamins, of Mooers; a son, Randy Donah and his fiancée, Tammy Mangine, of Coopersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Douglas Dann, of Parish; three brothers, Richard Donah and his wife, Judy, of Gansevoort, Gary Donah of Tampa, Fla., and Al Donah of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Priscilla and her husband, Francis Menard, and Joanne Donah, both of Mooers Forks; two grandchildren, Martin and Joseph Dann, of Parish; and his friend and former wife, Teotis Mary Donah, of Champlain. His parents and a sister, Sandra Gross, died before him. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. from the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. "Rena" Chagnon, 64, of Hartwell Street, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 18, 1941, the daughter of Walter and Ethel (Eliott) Eldred. Rowena enjoyed shopping and traveling around the North Country, but most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter's Church. Rowena was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ethel Eldred; her husband, Samuel A. "Sonny" Chagnon; her brothers, Harold, Walter and Francis Eldred; her sisters, Mable Eldred and Beula Daust. She is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna Agoney of Ellenburg Depot, Cynthia and William Nordin of Mooers, Sonya Chagnon of Mooers Forks, Clara Rabideau of Ellenburg Depot, Wendy and Kevin Douglas of Plattsburgh; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Owen and Star Eldred of Dannemora, Raleigh Eldred of Beacon, N.Y.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gladys and Robert Daust of Morrisonville, Myrtle Jabaut of Ellenburg Depot; 11 grandchildren, James Agoney, Mark Agoney, Lauretta LaForest and her companion Adrien, Samuel Nordin, Julius Chagnon, Elaine Rabideau Velie, Joshua Frenya, Scott Frenya, Nicholas Douglas, Tyler Douglas and Ryan Douglas; her companion, Robert Collins of Plattsburgh; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
