Langevin, 76, of 1905 Mineral Spring Ave., a service technician in the traffic division of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation for 12 years before retiring in 1976, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital. He was the husband of Olive R. (Favreau) Langevin. Born in Southbridge, Mass., a son of the late George and Marion (Varin) Langevin, he lived in North Providence for 50 years. Mr. Langevin was a member of the Centredale Volunteer Fire Company, the North Providence Senior Citizens Center, the Happy Notes at the senior center, the Royal Travelers Association and the C.A.S.C.O. He was a former ham radio operator with the North Providence Civil Defense. He was a past grand knight in St. Lawrence Council, Knights of Columbus, and held the fourth-degree in the Adams Assembly, K of C. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Clair Greenwood of Warwick; two brothers, Arthur Langevin of Fullerton, Calif., and Alpherie Langevin of Fayetteville, N.C.; four sisters, Rosena Edwards of Moorehead City, N.C., Maryrene Mariner of Orlando, Fla., Dorothy Crowther of Coventry, Florence Lemoine of Warwick, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. from the Elliott Robbins Funeral Chapel, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth Street. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Providence Journal4.17.20001 OLIVE R. LANGEVIN - North Providence OLIVE R. LANGEVIN, 92, formerly of Mineral Spring Avenue, a retired saleslady, died yesterday at the Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Louis J. Langevin. Born in Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late Medric and Lena (Lambert) Favreau. She had lived in North Providence 83 years. Mrs. Langevin was a saleslady for the former J.B. Fogarty Drygoods Store, Centredale, for 18 years before retiring in 1962. She had also worked for the former Centredale Worsted Mill, the former Allendale Mill and the former Stillwater Worsted Mill. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Lawrence Council Knights of Columbus. She was an honorary member of St. Anne's Sodality of St. Lawrence Church, the Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, the Royal Travelers of North Providence, and Centredale Association for Senior Citizens Organization of North Providence. She leaves a daughter, Clair Greenwood of Oriental, N.C.; a brother, Arthur Favreau of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Rose Lambert of Jacksonville, Fla; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:45 a.m. from the Elliott M. Robbins Chapel, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
