Carmel Belanger - (Morning Sentinel) BURNHAM -- Carmel Belanger, 58, of Main Street passed away Dec. 7, 2006 in Waterville, Maine. He was born on April 4, 1948, in LeJeune, Canada the son of Gerard Belanger and Anne-Marie (Soucy) Belanger. He later met and married his wife of 38 years, Ginette Belanger, on July 27, 1968. He worked as a drywaller for most of his working career and, most recently, working for Porter Drywall in Scarborough for the last ten years. Carmel loved the outdoors and he enjoyed going deer and moose hunting, he loved going trout fishing in Canada, and he enjoyed ice fishing. He is survived by his wife, Ginette, of Burnham, three children; Perry Belanger of Salem, NH, Diane Belanger of Sangerville, Melisa Belanger of Burnham, five grandchildren; Sebastian, Josie, Sabrina, Anna Lee and Samantha, three brothers; Richard, Regis and Philippe Belanger, seven sisters; Rita, Louiselle, Marielle, Aline, Francine, Danielle and Lise, three brothers-in-law; Regean, Clermon and Fernand, three sister in-laws; Claudette, Francine and Carole, aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother in-law, Claude, and a sister in-law Regeane. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Ave., Pittsfield, with a gathering to follow at the Knights of Columbus, Dobson Street, Pittsfield. Arrangements are entrusted to Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
