"Fritz" Bergevin, 98, a resident of the Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the home. He was born Aug. 13, 1906, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Adelard and Mary Jane (LeDuc) Bergevin at 309 W. Grand Ave., Chippewa Falls, and lived there all of his life. He graduated from McDonell Memorial High School in 1923. Wilfred married Marian Attlesey in Duluth, Minn., in 1934. He was an automobile salesman for most of his life. He was a member of Notre Dame Church and a former member of Moose Lodge #246 and a Past Governor, a North Moose, and a Fellow, and also a former member of U.C.T. Lodge #335. He is survived by: two daughters, Jean Marie Mayer and Geraldine Ann McCaghy, both of Chippewa Falls; one son, Robert Bergevin of Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marian on June 3, 1981; his parents; four brothers, Homer, Raymond, Clarence and Lawrence; two sisters, Maude Plante and Mildred Oie; three great grandsons, Corey Mayer, Zachary Mayer and Sabrina Halmstad; and two sons-in-law, Paul Mayer and Gerald McCaghy. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brian Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends may call one hour before the time of services on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at Notre Dame Church. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Notre Dame Children's Fund, McDonell High School, or the Chippewa Catholic Cemetery Association. Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls is in charge of arrangements.
