    2. Kyea, Clarence W. AUSABLE FORKS — Clarence W. Kyea, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at CVPH Medical in Plattsburgh. He was born Dec. 25, 1923, in AuSable Forks the son of Michael and Josephine (Patnode) Kyea. He graduated from the AuSable High School in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II from July 1943 to January 1946, serving in the 170th Medical Evacuation Hospital in Italy, then to the Philippines, serving in the S.W. Pacific. Clarence was a laborer at the J + J Rogers Co. in AuSable Forks, N.Y., after they closed he worked for 3 years in food service at the Plattsburgh Air Base, shipping department at Colonial Bordman in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1977. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1980 becoming a 3rd Degree Knight. He survived by two sisters, Pearl Guiffrida of AuSable Forks and Mary L. LaMarque of Plattsburgh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and George Kyea; and two sisters, Eva Kyea and Hazel Vanvalkenburg. Memorials may be made to the Holy Name School. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Zaumetzer Sprague Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Published in the Press Republican on 12/19/2006.
