Ovide J. Lamoureux, 92 of Babbitt Hill Road, Pomfret Center, Ct. died peacefully Sunday and went home to be with the Lord after a long illness. He was born in St. Aime Quebec Canada on May 23, 1914. He was the son of the late Arthur and Matilda (Godin) Lamoureux. He was married for fiftyfour years to Irene Bourque, who survives him. Mr Lamoureux was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked at local textile mills, including Hale Manufacturing and Putnam Woolen Mills. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert J Lamoureux and Phyllis Jett of Birmingham, Al., two daughters, Jeanne T. Howard and her husband Tom of Dayville and Lisa A. Lamoureux and Paul Otis of Rogers; several half brothers and sisters, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his brother, Ledger Lamoureux, sister, Rose Lefevre, and a grandson, Matthew Howard. Calling hours wil be held in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson on Saturday from 1-3 PM with a Memorial Service at 2 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
