Bergevin, 30, of Charlottesville, Va., formerly a resident of Vestal, N.Y., died unexpectedly in Charlottesville, Friday, June 20, 2003. He is survived by his father, Patrick Bergevin, Md.; and stepmother, Rita C. Bergevin, Vestal; brothers, Andrew P. Bergevin and Dennis R. Bergevin, both of Vestal; grandmothers, Della McLane, Bloomington, Ill. and Charlotte Bergevin, Peoria, Ill.; uncle and aunt, Mike Bergevin and Alice Bergevin, Peoria, Ill.; special grandparents, Phyllis and Joseph Morrell, Staten Island, N.Y.; and many cousins. Sam graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School, Staten Island, N.Y. in 1991. He worked at Lourdes Hospital during his summers off from college. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from New York Institute of Technology, Long Island, N.Y . in May 1995. Sam served in the U.S. Navy from July 1995 until October 1999. Primarily served the U.S. Navy during this time on the U.S.S. Guardian and was stationed in Sasebo, Japan. He used his talented computer skills to design a Navy website and also assisted in upgrading computer technology for the Navy. He was given a medal from the Navy in recognition of his work. Sam is remembered by his family for his loving kindness and gentle ways. We love you Sam. A Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Vincent DePaul Church, 165 Clifton Blvd., Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to MSGR Farrell High School, Staten Island, N.Y. 10306.
