H., Sept. 6.-Arthur Joseph Fortier 51 died at a hospital here last night shortly after he was stricken with a heart attack while watchin, a drive-in movie at Newhington.Dr. Wendall P, Clare, Rockhingham County medical referee said Fortier died of natural causes. He was employed as an electrician at Goodall Sanford, Inc, mills at Sanford,Fortler was born July 26 1903 at St. Hélène, P.Q.. son of Jean B. and Emilie Gagne, He is survived by his widow, Mrs Blanche G. Fortier: two daughters Mrs. Raymond Belair and Mrs Donald Belanger, both of Sanford; four brothers, Alexander Fortier, William Fortier and Albert Fortier, all of Sanford and Ludger Fortier, Berthierville. P.Q.; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Poirier, Aston Junction, P.Q., Mrs. Laura Quint, Miss Marie Fortier and Sister Marie Bernard. all of Sanford, and two grandchildren.Funeral will be at 7:15 A.M. Wednesday from the huard Funeral Home Sanford. followed by a Solemn' High requiem mass at 8 from St. ignatius Church, Sanford. Internment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Portland Press Herald 2003-11-17 Blanche G. Fortier, 96 LATHAM, N.Y. - Blanche G. Fortier, 96, of Our Lady of Hope Residence, formerly of Sanford died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 at the residence. Born and educated in St. Paul DeChester Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Placid and Elise Fouquette Lehouillier She moved to the United States from Sylvere, Canada on April 1, 1921, settling in Maine. She married her beloved husband late Arthur J. Fortier on Feb. 21,1927 at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. Mr. Fortier died Sept. 5,1954. While living in Sanford she was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church; a member of Our Lady of Saint Anne; St. Jeans Baptiste Society; and the Altar Society at St. Ignatius. She was an active member of the Trafton Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her many friends. She moved from Sanford to Latham, N.Y. on Sept. 5, 1993. Survivors include her loving children, Dorothy C. and her husband Raymond Belair of Albany, N.Y. and Marguerite and her husband Donald Belanger of Sanford. She is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Blanche was predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne Charette, Armanza Genest, Laurette Plante, Corinne Plante, Rosette Caron and Marie Paul Grenier; and her brother, Rev. Jordain Alphonse Lehouillier Dominican Father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 19, at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Chapel, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, N.Y. Relatives and friends and may call at Our Lady of Hope Residence on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
