WILLSBORO, NY — Marie R. Drinkwine, 88, of Willsboro, died at her home on Sunset Drive. She was born in Siberia, Ind., Oct. 11, 1918, the daughter of Henry and Caroline (Lou) Welp. She was a member of St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro and the Altar Rosary Society. For many years she faithfully took care of the church linens. Marie is survived by five children and their spouses and children, son, Leo and Gail Drinkwine and their children and spouses Carrie and Todd Pierson, Cheryl Drinkwine, and sons Korey and Brandy Sweatt, and Kenny Sweatt and partner Amanda Sousie, daughter Ann and Charles D' Angelo, and son Howard, daughter Mary and Dan Magee and their children Joey and Patrick, daughter Doris Soper and children Steve and fiancé Tracy, Elizabeth and partner Jim Phinney and Ryan and wife Cathy, son John and Susie Drinkwine and their children John and Cheryl Drinkwine, Jessica and Justin. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, brother Cyrene and Emma Welp, and sister-in-law Helen Welp. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard in September 1980; brothers, Basil, Ted, Isadore and Henry; sisters, Theresa Blume and Emma Schmidt. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro. Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's Church Thursday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Essex Road in Willsboro. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to the Willsboro Rescue Squad or St. Philips Church. Published in the Press Republican on 12/19/2006.
