    2. ROUSES POINT — Virgil J. Brunell, 83, of Rouses Point, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Plattsburgh, the son of the late Henry and Rose Brunell. He was a mechanic and a truck driver at Anchor Motor Freight in Champlain. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Champlain and a member of the Teamsters Union. His parents; one sister, Theresa Lyon; and brother-in-law Irwin Lyon predeceased Virgil. Survivors include his wife, Edna Brunell; two sons, Gary Brunell of Rouses Point and Mike Brunell of Rouses Point; four daughters, Liz Coleman and Ron of Keeseville, Kathy and Arnold Lashway, Carmen Miller of Houston, Texas, Mary Smith of Houston, Texas; one sister, Veronica Brunell Lashway of Champlain; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Lashway and Leon Wheeler and Cathrine of Lakeland, Fla. His grandchildren, Lance Brunell, Travis Brunell, Adam Brunell, Matthew Brunell, Kelly Meseck and Michelle Aubin as well as several nieces and nephews also survive him. Virgil's family would like to thank Henny Chapman and Christine Lagree for all of the special care they provided. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point. Published in the Press Republican on 12/7/2006. ---------------------------------------------- CHAMPLAIN — Ubald Rene Garceau, 71, of Champlain, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Brighams & Womens Hospital in Boston, Mass., after a long battle with heart disease. Ubald was born Feb., 15, 1935 in St. Bernard de LaColle, Quebec, the son of Oza and Victoria (Trombley) Garceau. Ubald made his way to the United States in the early 1950s at which time he was employed by several area farmers until his employment with R. Deso & Co. He then spent several years as a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight. He left Anchor to pursue his dream of a family business, the well known Ubald's Sunoco, which he started with his former wife, Theresa (Pinsoncault) Garceau. Of Ubald's many interests, he especially enjoyed to run his loader, auctions, watching the horses and various animals at the farm and was an avid gambler with family and friends. He was an active member of the Champlain Knights of Columbus and participated in many community events and charities. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Normand Garceau, Jean-Paul Garceau and Bernard Garceau; and one sister, Jean Garceau. He leaves behind two brothers, Lucien Garceau and Maurice Garceau of Quebec; one sister, Jeannine Surpemault of Champlain; his wife, Jean (Friedrich) Garceau of Champlain; his children, Richard Garceau and wife Carol of Champlain, Linda Bond and her husband Rocky of Champlain, Stephen Garceau and companion Nicole Trombley of Champlain; his step-children, Wendy Leduc and husband Thomas of Champlain, Dawn Deloria of Rouses Point and Craig Deloria of Rouses Point. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and various nieces and nephews, all who were the love of his life. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church. "Jimmy" Garden, a lifelong resident of Beekmantown, devoted husband, loving father, public servant, gifted artist and gentleman farmer, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 5, 1942, at the old Base Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Raised by his grandparents, Arthur and Emma Belanger, he grew up on a small dairy farm on the Spellman Road. He attended Beekmantown Central School, and graduated from Burnt Hills Academy in Ballston Spa, N.Y. A hard and tireless worker, he was employed by the Diamond Paper Company and its subsequent ownership's for over 45 years. In 1972, he married the former Sharron Lee Hall. Together, on the site of his grandparents farm, they established Willow Manor Farms. Here the couple bred Morgan Horses, and later Scotch Highland Cattle. In November of 1979, he was elected to the town council of the Town of Beekmantown. An incumbency he proudly maintained for the rest of his life, James R. Garden served as councilman through 1997, and from thereon, deputy supervisor. A hard-line bipartisan, in 2004 he was the recipient of the much coveted "Virginia P. Noonan Democrat of the Year Award." In 1998, he and his wife founded Country Gardens Greenhouse and Nursery, a division of Willow Manor Farms. He was known for kindness, honesty and extreme generosity. He enjoyed barn building, cartooning, collecting antiques, woodworking and quiet time on the farm with his wife and family. He valued the ol! d ways, and through the years, amassed what is one of the Northeast's largest private collections of antique horse-drawn carriages and sleighs. Dad was 64 years old. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharron (Hall); three sons and their spouses, Craig Allison and Erin Sears of Beekmantown, N.Y., Nathaniel and Sarah (Sookochoff) Garden of Santa Monica, Calif., Matthew and Christina (Guay) Garden of Beekmantown; three grandchildren, Tristin, Corey, Allison, Linzi and Rylan Garden; and very dear family friend, Tracy Corey of Dannemora, N.Y. Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 9, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Macbeth, 82, of Addoms Street, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Bennington, Vt., on Feb. 21, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Stasia (Billick) Boutin. Prior to moving to Plattsburgh, Marie was a graduate of UVM Class of 1945 and she taught school in Vermont and New York. Marie had been employed by the Clinton County Board of Elections retiring in 1996. She enjoyed volunteering at CVPH Medical Center, flower gardening and traveling to Maine. Marie was a member of St. John's Church, the Altar Rosary Society of St. John's Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Stasia Boutin; and her husband, Eugene Macbeth. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth A. Macbeth of Plattsburgh, Jean M. Backus and her husband, John, of Collierville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Marie, Jason Eugene and Tabitha Clark Backus. Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association or the Sub-Acute Unit at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. He was born in Standish, on Dec. 4, 1929, the son of Albert and Josephine (Lejeune) Pelletier. Mr. Pelletier was the founder and original owner of North End Repair in Plattsburgh. He was later employed at Georgia-Pacific and Imperial Wallcovering. He enjoyed caribou hunting, salmon fishing and the outdoors of Alaska and Quebec. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6167 of Morrisonville. He is survived by his wife, Rosanna (Collins) Pelletier whom he married in 1949; his children, Ruth and Thomas Becker of Dubuque, Iowa, Rose Anne and Roland Ferris of Castleton, N.Y., Christopher and Rita Nugent of Plymouth, Minn., Gary and Annette Pelletier of Beverly, Mass., Keith and Neil Pelletier both of Morrisonville, Thomas and Gloria Dandeneau of Westfield, Mass., Julie Harnes of England, Bryan Pelletier of Dubuque, Iowa; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Thomas and Gloria Pelletier of Saranac, Winifred Pelletier of Wyantskill; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Marie Delima Powers died on July 6, 2005; and a brother, Leo Pelletier died on Sept. 5, 2006. Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Born in Chazy Lake, N.Y., on Jan. 17, 1931, Donald was the son of the late Octave and Delphine Champagne Reyor. At the age of 10, he moved to Waterford, N.Y., where he resided for most of his life. Donald was a retired tugboat captain and was employed by the New York State Canal System. He was brother of Hubert (Doris) Reyor, Leonard (Ruth) Reyor both of Leesburg, Fla., Edith Ashline, Chazy Lake, NY, Loretta (John) Recore, Southbridge, Mass., and the late Francis and Herbert Reyor. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside interment service on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Memory's Garden, Colonie, N.Y. She was born in Rouses Point, N.Y., on July 18, 1913, the eldest child of the late Jesse and Ellen (Frenya) Forgays. Mrs. Weldon was a long-time resident of Plattsburgh and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harold Weldon; her brothers, Jesse Forgays and Francis (Frank) Forgays; her sister, Gertrude (Trudy) Jarvis; sisters-in-law, Frances M. Weldon and Lillian W. Casey. Mrs. Weldon graduated from Rouses Point High School and the Champlain Valley Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse and private duty nurse for many years in Plattsburgh. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nola and Steve Quagliana of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Matthew Quagliana of Woodstock, Ga., and Anne Quagliana of Jacksonville, Fla.; a nephew, William LaWare; and two nieces, Donna Forgays and Kathy Hinson. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the chapel at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
