Fortier, loving wife, beloved mother, awesome memere and faithful friend, fell asleep with the angels onSunday, June 22, 2003. Born March 28, 1935, in Leominster, Massachusetts, she moved to Brevard County in 1957 with her newlywed husband, and became a lifelong Melbourne resident. Survivorsinclude her husband of 47 years, Robert; daughter, Pauline Bunting and her husband, Larry of Palm Bay; daughter, Teri Allen and husband, Jon of Palm Bay; daughter, JoAne Fortier of Melbourne; son, Gerry Fortier and his wife,Jodie of Melbourne; grandsons, Sean Harnage, Aaron Allen, and Garrett Fortier; granddaughters, Shelly Allen and Sydney Fortier; and one brother, Robert Boudreau of Melbourne. Until her illness, Lorraine was active in her church as a Eucharist Minister and was a Health First Hospice volunteer. She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother, and made literally thousands of Rosary Beads over the years that she sent to missionaries around the globe. For 33 years, she was coowner with her husband of East Coast Ceramics andFortier's Slips, Inc., in Melbourne and was instrumental in the development of the local ceramic industry and taught the joy of ceramics to many people. Although she will be greatly missed, we will rejoice that she is home at last with her saviour Jesus Christ. Viewing will be held from2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24th, at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25th, at AscensionCatholic Church in NorthMelbourne with entombment immediately following atFlorida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
