Madeleine Cadieux > Noel + Marthe Golle Rumford Falls Times 2005-2-16 Jasper C. Bulger VENTURA, CA -- Jasper C. Bulger, 91, died at his Ventura, CA home on Jan. 31, 2005. He was born at Portage, Prince Edward Island, the first of seven children born to Joseph and Lilla (Durant) Bulger. Mr. Bulger grew up in Rumford and was a graduate of Stephens High School where he was a respected students and athlete. He was married in Rumford on Oct. 14, 1934 to Cecile Fortier, who died in 1990. He worked for Oxford Paper Company for a time, then served in the Seabees during World War II. He settled in Ventura after the war and worked at the US Naval Construction Center at Port Hueneme as a refrigeration and air conditioning specialist. He was an avid bowler for many years. Mr. Bulger is survived by his son, John Gary; and two sisters, Mary Van Nest and Emma Brennan, all of Ventura and Druscilla Breton of Rumford. He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Patrick, John and Bernard. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Feb. 4 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ventura with burial at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
