Madeleine Cadieux > Noel + Marthe Golle Kennebec Journal James Robert Fortier WEATHERFORD, Texas -- Jim Fortier, 65, a computer system manager, died of advanced liver cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at his residence. James Robert Fortier, the son of Frank and Muriel Fortier, was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Skowhegan, Maine. Jim and the former Sharon Murphy were married Sept. 30, 1967, and together started their family. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Francis Brett Fortier; and a brother, Jay Fortier. Jim's last wish was to thank all those supporting him during his illness with their prayers and medical assistance, especially the doctors and nurses at Weatherford Texas Cancer Center. Survivors are his wife, Sharon Fortier of Weatherford; son Jon Fortier of Maine; daughters Mikaron Fortier and Robyn Fortier of Seattle; mother Muriel Fortier of Winthrop, Maine; brother John Fortier and wife Joan of Maine; sister Janet DeJoni of Anchorage, Alaska; sister-in-law Carol Fortier of Winthrop; and many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. A get-together will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Fortier residence, 3107 Zion Hill Road, Weatherford. The Fortier family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Japanese Gardens at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, 3220 Botanic Garden Boulevard, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
