I am looking for info on or about Alfred N.Turgeon. born in Quebec Canada July 10,1845.(or close) He came to the USA around 1867-68 to Clarion Pennsylvania. Declaration of intent to become a citizen in 1872, and naturalized in 1874.He is on the 1870 census for Clarion Pennsylvania, listed as a Barber. He married (we think twice) and remained in PA where he died in Butler PA June 12, 1917. His obit stated he had a sister living in Canada. I have no information on his parents or siblings. I do have all his children's info. What I need is to find out how to find out who his parents were and or where he was born in Quebec. I have his death certificate which does not list his parents.Is there any information for 1845 -through-1860-70? such as directories? or census for Canada, or ???? I have been unable to find out how to locate birth records as they are kept in local parishes and I wouldn't know where to look.
