    3. Roger A. Lafleur Sr. Roger A. Lafleur, Sr. 1922 - 2004 CHICOPEE - Roger A. "Pop" Lafleur, Sr., 82, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Tuesday November 2, 2004 from his home with his loving family by his side. He was employed for 42 years and retired in 1983 as an engineer for the Savage Arms Company in Westfield. He was also a well known locksmith in the Chicopee area and was the owner and operator for 61 years of Lafleur's Locksmith Service. He was the locksmith for many years for the City of Chicopee and was known as the "Key Man" in the City. Former Mayor Joseph Chessey presented him with a "Key" to the City for his diligent and conscientious work. He was the locksmith for many years for the Fairview Council 4044 Knights of Columbus and received the "Honorary Member Award". He was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and served his Parish for many years as their locksmith. He also worked for many other churches in the Chicopee area including Saint Patrick's and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. He was born in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on February 19, 1922 a beloved son of the late Joseph and Edourdiana (Duprat) Lafleur and moved to Aldenville in 1942. He was a member of the 25 year retiree club at the Savage Arms Company in Westfield and an honorary member of the Polish American Club in Chicopee. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Jeanne Chantal (Cloutier) Lafleur. They were married at Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville on April 11, 1942. He also leaves his loving sons, Roger A. Lafleur, Jr. and his wife Marie of Aldenville and Albert A. Lafleur the owner of Discount Auto Glass and his wife Candice of South Hadley. His cherished grandchildren, Kurt Lafleur and his wife Michelle of Chicopee, Keith Lafleur of Chicopee, Kim Avey and her husband Normand of Chicopee, Albert Lafleur, Jr. and his wife Joni of Palm City, FL and Cheryl Hansen and her husband Steven of Somers, CT. His cherished great-grandchildren, Jeremy A. Lafleur, Tyler Goshea, Kyle Lafleur, Mellissa Lafleur, Cory Lafleur, Josh Avey, Daniel Lafleur, Jarrett Lafleur and Samantha Hansen. He also leaves his dear brother, Harvey Lafleur and his wife Margie of Chicopee. His dear sister, Jeanne Dumas and her husband Homer of Chicopee. His dear sister-in-law Alice Lafleur of Chicopee and his many dear nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Steven J. Lafleur who was Called Home on July 18, 1979 and his dear brothers, Paul and Russell Lafleur. His funeral will be held Saturday morning November 6, 2004 at 8 a.m. from the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street at the junction of Grattan Street in Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in Aldenville. His burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery on Olsen Street in Aldenville. His family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Rose Chapel on Friday November 5, 2004 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home off of Lafayette Street.
