John Edward Duval John Edward Duval 1954 - 2004 SPRINGFIELD - John "Johnnie" Edward Duval, 50, a life long resident of this town, and beloved husband of 27 years to Mary (Bigelow) Duval, died November 20, 2004, following a brief illness. Prior to his retirement on May 21, 2004, "Johnnie" had been employed by Smith & Wesson for 30 years. Born in Springfield, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Connell) Duval and was a 1972 graduate of Springfield Trade School. He was a communicant of St. George Church, Chicopee. Johnnie was a friend of "Bills W's", and was part of the Springfield Fellowship. An avid NASCAR racing fan with John's passing, racing has lost one its most dedicated supporters and will never be the same! Besides his wife John is survived by a son John, a daughter Michelle both at home, 2 brothers Matthew Duval of Chicopee, and Mark Duval of Morton Grove, Illinois, 2 sisters Val Duval of Middlesex, Vermont Laurie Lamoreaux of South Hadley his mother-in-law, Lois Bigelow of Springfield and 11 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held for John on Wednesday 10:30 a.m. in Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Interment will be at the family's discretion. Calling hours for John will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Respectfully the family requested that flowers please be omitted, and that memorial contributions may be sent to the Serenity Club of Springfield, 391 Belmont Ave., Springfield 01108.
