Lauretta Mary Martin WESTBROOK - Lauretta Mary Martin, born March 12, 1931 in Rumford, passed away Nov. 12, 2004 following a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She enjoyed her work as a bookkeeper, retiring from Forest City Chevrolet. Lauretta was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook and enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, singing, watching television, crocheting, and all of life's simple pleasures. All those who knew her will remember her sense of humor, her kindness, her gentle giving spirit, her optimism, her courage and her grace. His light shone forth in her eyes and in her smile. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by four brothers, Raymond Martin of Duarte, Calif., Leo Martin of Houston, Texas, Elmer Martin of Hot Springs, Ark., and Norman Martin of Gray. Lauretta is cherished by her three daughters and their families, Carin Turner of Portland, Carla Ham and husband Frank of Portland, Paula Lorello and husband Thomas of Gray. Lauretta is blessed with two grandchildren, Kate Turner of San Diego, Calif., and Mathew Lorello of Gray. Visiting hours will be from 4-6 p.m., Monday, followed by a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.
