11/18/2004HELEN ROSE QUESNEL MIDDLEBURY - Helen Rose Quesnel, 81, passed away Nov. 17, 2004, surrounded by family and friends, at her home in Middlebury. She was born in Whiting, June 18, 1923, the youngest child of Rosario and Victoria (Rochon) Quesnel. Helen attended grade school in Whiting, and high school at Mount St. Joseph's Academy in Rutland. She began her work career at Van Raaulte in Middlebury, retiring in 1963, to care for her ailing mother. In August 1963, she began working at Cole's Florist, where her artistic talents led her to become an extremely talented floral designer. She retired in 1985. Helen married Bernard L. Cole, of Middlebury, on Oct. 19, 1987. They shared a love of travel and adventure and wintered in Fort Myers, Fla., until Bernard's health deteriorated. He predeceased her on June 6, 1996. Helen leaves two sisters, Lucille Faubert of Bristol, and Alice Charlebois of Middlebury. She was predeceased by one sister, Simone Rheaume, and three brothers, Ernest, Lawrence and Noe. Helen also leaves numerous nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law, Alice Quesnel; her special cousin, Vida Gray of West Rutland; and her late husband's children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, whose company she enjoyed. In addition, she leaves her beloved kitty, Fluffy. Helen was a member of St. Mary Church in Middlebury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Burial will follow in Weybridge Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks to ElderWise, and Addison County Home Health and Hospice.
