    3. Monday, November 22, 2004 James C. Chenell, 92 PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - James C. Chenell, 92, of 116 Austin Street in Portsmouth, died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at the Edgewood Center in Portsmouth. Mr. Chenell was born on Entry Island in the Magdalen Islands, in Canada, on Oct. 1, 1912. He was a son of David E. and Emily (McPhail) Chenell. At the age of three, he moved with his parents to West Roxbury, Mass., where he was raised and attended school. At the age of 28, he moved to Kittery, where he was employed as a painter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. After retirement he built and operated for many years, the Blue Roof Motel in Kittery. He was married to his wife, Mona until her death in 1971. Mr. Chenell enjoyed the company of his family, and the many children he encountered over the years, whom he adored. He was a member of the Loyal order of Moose in Portsmouth. He is survived by his family, his loving companion Yvette Faulkner and her family; his step-daughters, Patricia Dahlberg and her husband, Roger of California, and Sheila Callahan of Maine; a sister, Eleanor Chenell Quinn and her husband, Philip of Entry Island; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Herbert (Marion) Chenell of West Roxbury, Mass.; grandchildren, Mona Dobson, Ingemar Dahlberg, and James Callahan; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Katherine Dobson; a nephew, David Chenell; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harry, George, and Herbert. A funeral will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the J.S Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, with Pastor Donald Gum officiating. Friends may visit with his family on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery. Family flowers only.
