Aurele D.J. Bourque, EDGEMOOR, S.C. - Decorated Army veteran, stationed in Haiti, Somalia October 29. 2004 8:12AM EDGEMOOR, S.C. -- Aurele Donald Joseph "Lucky" Bourque, 43, of South Carolina, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Suncook. A gathering will follow at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "My Greatest Dream," which grants last wishes to the terminally ill, 727 Lafayette Road, Seabrook 03874. ~~~ Born Jan. 13, 1961, in Augusta, Maine, Mr. Bourque was the son of Gabrielle and Ralph Cutting of St. Cloud, Fla., and the late Marcel Bourque of Augusta, Maine. Aurele was the grandson of the late Aurele and Rose Bourque. He grew up in Concord. Lucky worked in circulation at the Concord Monitor. Aurele graduated from Concord High School in 1979. Lucky attended college at the University of Maine. Lucky was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Somalia and Haiti. He remained in South Carolina with his wife and children after being discharged and worked for his father-in-law and at the time of his death, at P. Kaufmann in Fort Mill. Lucky was proud that he received the Army Commendation Medal 3rd award, Army Achievement Medal 2nd award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal 2nd award and the Humanitarian Service Medal, to name a few. He was a life member of the VFW in Augusta, Maine. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Karen (Jerolmon) Bourque; two sons, Nicholas and Zachary, and his daughter by marriage, Margaret, of Edgemoor, S.C.; his brother, Michael Bourque of Contoocook; and two sisters, Doreen Dykeman and Charlene Odette, both of Pembroke. His youngest brother, Ludger Bourque Cutting, predeceased him. Lucky's brothers and sisters also include Sandra Anderson, Lisa Hamm, Lou Ann Poirier, Russell Cutting and Ralph Cutting and their spouses. He had several nieces and nephews.
