Alberta Goheen DOVER - Alberta G. Goheen, 85, widow of Frederick E. Goheen, of Bishop Gendron Apartments, formerly a long time resident of 6 Hawthorn Road, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at St. Ann Health Care Center following a brief illness. Born in Dover Feb. 21, 1919, she was the daughter of Joseph and Soufrenie (Bernard) Labbe. Mrs. Goheen was retired from Tiara Shoe and Miller Shoe where she worked as a stitcher. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church for many years and was very involved in various ministries of the church, including prayer groups and retreats. In addition she operated an in-home store offering many religious items. For many years she lovingly cared for many different family members who became ill and, since living at Bishop Gendron, she frequently visited the infirm. Family members include her daughter Kathleen M. Glover and her husband Jeffrey F. Glover of Center Harbor; two grandchildren, Shawn Tebbetts of Gilmanton Iron Works and Michelle Currier of Gilford; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including Dottie Kay of Dover. Mrs. Goheen was predeceased by her husband, Frederick E. Goheen who died July 30, 2001; and by 15 brothers and sisters, Eva Labbe, Blandine Smith, Emile Labbe, Leonie Jalbert, Anna Ellison, Yvonne Plante, Adelard Labbe, Fred Labbe, Ernest Labbe, Blanche Bergeron, Albertine Roy, Ludivive Kay, Ludger Labbe, Grace Labbe, and Marie Barry. - - - Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. Ann Healthcare Center Chapel, 195 Dover Point Road. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Ruzzo, associate pastor of St. Joseph Church, as celebrant.
