    3. Joan Miranda Joan Miranda, had active church life ROCHESTER - Joan E. (Carr) Miranda, 72, of 1 Mandela Drive died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home following a period of failing health. She was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Exeter, N.H., the daughter of the late J. George and Pauline (Hughes) St. Laurent. She was a member of Newmarket High School's Class of 1950. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Rochester and also a member of the altar and rosary of St. Joseph's Church in Dover. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Members of her family include her husband of 27 years, Santiago "Jim" Miranda of Rochester; her children, Sandi Carr of Rochester, Paula Slaughter of Rochester, Orrison W. Carr III and his wife Maureen of Saugus, Mass., Michele M. Houle and her husband Michael of Rochester, and Scott J. Carr and his wife Vicki of Middleton; her grandchildren, Mark A. Carr, Orrison W. Carr IV, Kaylan Carr, Kelli Carr, Seton Slaughter, Jenn Houle, Mary Houle, Michele R. Houle, Travis Houle, Patrick Carr and Zachary Carr. She also leaves a sister, Theresa Taylor of Dover, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Orrison W. Carr Jr., in 1965. --- Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church on Lowell Street in Rochester with Father Pierre Baker, pastor, as celebrant. A private burial will be held at a later date.
