Leon J. Vieu Sr. Leon J. Vieu, Sr. 1927 - 2004 CHICOPEE - Leon J. Vieu, Sr., 77, of Kon Tiki Cir. Chicopee, died Saturday November 13, 2004, at Mercy Hospital. Born in Huntington, son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Blair) Vieu. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, South Hadley. Leon worked for Van Valkenburg Co. in Chicopee. He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II, while in the service he received the World War II Victory Medal American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal. Leon is survived by his wife Grace (Lafromboise) Vieu, his children Mary Green of Chicopee, Linda Vieu of South Hadley, Susan Reynolds and Marilyn Page both of Chicopee, Leon J. Vieu, Jr., Robert Vieu of Springfield, and Richard Vieu of South Hadley, brothers David Vieu of Springfield, and Gilbert Vieu of Granby, his sister Aurela McDonagh Andrzejewski of Belchertown. He also has 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning 9 a.m. from the Ryder Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick Church with burial in St. Rose Cemetery all in South Hadley.
