    3. 11/04/2004VALERIE A. DUBUQUE ESSEX JUNCTION - Valerie A. Dubuque, 48, of Essex Junction died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004. She was born Jan. 27, 1956, in Wappinger Falls, N.Y., the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (Demiza) Matthews. As a young baby, her family moved to Essex Junction, where she attended schools and graduated from Essex Junction High School in 1974. Val went on to work for Hemingway Motors, Sno-Jet Inc., and for 24 plus years as a test specialist for IBM. Recently, she had volunteered for the Burlington Senior Citizens and the local chapter of Greyhound Rescue. Valerie married Paul E. Dubuque on May 19, 1979. She was truly a beautiful, kind and compassionate woman with deep faith in God. Val always enjoyed movies, music, reading, family and friends. A loving wife, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Val will be deeply missed by all who were honored to know her. "Mom", was the best mother any daughter could ask for. Her patience, warmness and kind words always had a way of comforting me. Even throughout all of her suffering, her focus was the well-being of her family. I've never met a person with so much courage and determination as my Mom. She didn't deserve to feel the tormenting pain she felt, but gave all her energy to fight it every day. My mother has left me with some of the best memories you could imagine and those memories will be passed down to her granddaughter. Mom, "I love you and will carry you in my heart always!" Valerie is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Adam, Kylee and Damon; sisters, Barbara Rogers and Beverly Matthews, brother, David Matthews; brothers-in-law, Richard Rogers, Dave, Tony and Larry Dubuque, and Maurice Matte; sisters-in-law, Bethany and Jodie Dubuque and Claire Matte; wonderful supporting motherin-law, Cecile Dubuque; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her closest "special" cousin, Ed Matthews, and many friends. Val, your pain and suffering on Earth are over and we are all comforted by the absolute knowledge that you are at peace in the loving arms of God for eternity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winooski. There are no visiting hours. Corbin & Palmer Funeral Chapel, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction, in care of arrangements.
