    3. Published: 11/9/04 Louis Dion Plattsburgh - Louis Dion, 73, of Oak Street, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in St. Sylvester, Quebec, Canada, on April 30, 1931, son of Rosaire and Yvonne (Drouin) Dion. Louis was a member of the Carpenter's Local 1042 for 37 years, having been employed by various local contractors, retiring in 1994 from Murnane Building Contractors. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, an avid fisherman and hunter and particularly enjoyed his wood- working shop. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and a good cigar while hooking a nice trout! Louis is survived by his wife, Monique (Farley) Dion of Plattsburgh; they were married in Canada on May 23, 1959; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and John Gratto of Ballston Spa and Estelle and Stephen Lapham of Beekmantown; and one son, Normand Dion of Plattsburgh; and nine grandchildren, Kristie, Nicholas and Stephanie Gratto, Shannon, Jason, Kayla and Brittany Lapham and Andre and Gabrielle Dion. He also leaves behind six sisters, Rita Huppe, Fernande Caux, Gisele Vachon and Rachel Dion of Quebec, Mrs. Robert (Cecile) Moffat of Peru and Florence Fontaine of Massachusetts. Louis is predeceased by his parents, Rosaire and Yvonne Dion; two sisters, Lucille Perreault and Jeanine Montminy; and three brothers, Marcel, Andre and Claude Dion. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at noon at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will immediately follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his memory at a reception to follow the Mass and burial ceremony at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Boynton Avenue in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center at SUNY Plattsburgh, 101 Broad St., Sibley Hall - 227, Plattsburgh, NY 12901-2681.
