Emery, Richard Published on 11/6/2004 Ocean Springs, Miss. - Richard "Dick" Wayne Emery, TMC(SS)USN retired, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and a former resident of Groton, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Emery was born in Hinsdale, Ill., on Feb. 25, 1928, to the late Samuel and Harriet Emery. Mr. Emery served his country honorably for 25 years in the United States Navy Submarine Service, retiring from the John C. Calhoun in 1969. Mr. Emery was preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Emery Jr.; a granddaughter, Caitlyn G. Cleary; and five sisters. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dolores (Beaulieu) Emery and their children Christopher Emery and wife Danielle of Biloxi, Miss., and Kelly Denton Emery; and a grandson, Gavin Denton. From his first marriage, Mr. Emery leaves his children, Susan A. Heist of Westerly, Patricia G. Cleary of Ledyard, Tracey A. Corbitt of Jacksonville, Ala., Michael J. Emery of West Haven, Anita M. Ellis or Covenry, R.I., Guy R. Emery of D'iberville, Miss., and Timothy J. Emery of Manchester. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, Danny, Tracy, Donald, Matthew, Emily, Ben, Emma, Eli, Sam, Rachael, Casey, Mitchell, Thomas, Joseph, and Hannah.
