JODIE REBECCA (CARON) STRICKLAND - Bristol 01:00 AM EST on Thursday, November 4, 2004 JODIE REBECCA (CARON) STRICKLAND, 31, of 594 Whitmore Rd., Hurdle Mills, N.C., formerly of Bristol, a deputy sheriff, died Oct. 2 from injuries suffered in a car accident in Hurdle Mills. She was the wife of Paul Strickland. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of Joseph Caron of Foster and Kathy Poissant of Assonet, Mass. She was an Orange County (N.C.) deputy sheriff, having worked as a school resource officer in Orange County. Before moving to Hurdle Mills, she had lived in Orange County and attended Greystone Baptist Church and was a member of the North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center, the Carolina Gold Bugle Corps and the Hurdle Mills Fire Department. While living in Bristol, Mrs. Strickland was a member of the Generations Drum & Bugle Corps. She attended Bristol High School and graduated from Cranston High School. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves her paternal grandfather, Bertrand Caron of Sun City, Fla.; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Caron of Fall River; her maternal grandmother, Leona Johnson of Assonet; and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Hope Street.
